Solid Charger for Travelers

I picked up this Charger for an upcoming trip, and it’s been working out pretty well. The charger is compact, which makes it super easy to toss in my bag without worrying about space. The foldable plug is a nice touch, keeping things neat. Plus, the built-in cable is super convenient—no need to worry about carrying extra cables.

What I Like:

1. Travel-Friendly: The small size, foldable plug, and built-in cable are perfect for travel.
Dual Ports: I can charge both my phone and tablet at the same time. Just a heads up, when you use both ports, the power splits, so each device gets 20W.
2. High-Quality Feel: The charger has a solid, premium feel to it—there’s a noticeable attention to detail in its design and construction that gives it a sense of quality.

What Could Be Better:
1. Confusing Details: The product description was a bit confusing at first, especially around the power output. It’s 40W total, but that’s only if you’re using one port at a time.
2. Similar Bundles: There were a couple of bundles on the product page that seemed almost identical, which made picking one a bit tricky.

Overall, it’s a handy charger if you’re on the go a lot. Just be sure to read the specs so you know what you’re getting!

Travel Ready

I really appreciate the compact design of the charger block, especially the retractable charging cord and collapsible wall plug. These features make it convenient to carry in my purse or suitcase without causing any damage. However, I noticed that the charging speed is divided when two devices are charging simultaneously. Initially, one device charges rapidly as "super fast," but when the second device is connected, both devices switch to "fast" charging. This was unexpected. Additionally, a tiny LED indicator to display when the power is on would be a helpful feature. Overall, the charger appears sturdy, it charges and the cord rewind function works well, eliminating the need to carry an extra cord while traveling.

An efficient and portable charger

This portable charger is very convenient with a built-in retractable type-C charging cable. I can directly charge my iPhone 15pro, although its own charging cable is only 0.68m(2.23ft), but it has an extra design of the C port, can be flexibly connected to other length of charging cable. You can charge two different devices at the same time, and it charges a single device at 40W, or 20W+20W if you charge two devices at the same time.

This retractable built-in charging cable is, in my opinion, the greatest invention of all - no wires to trip you over, no wires to tidy and secure.

If you have an iPhone 12/13/14, you'll need a USB-C to Lightning adapter. The charger itself is very small, convenient and practical. It can easily fit into any luggage, backpack or handbag. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fast, efficient and portable charging solution

Well-developed Great Charging Block - Highly Recommend!

Like many in this modern age of technology, I’ve gone through a fair share of power adapters, charging blocks, and wall chargers; from stock/purchased, single/multi, and brand-name/aftermarket options, most people have their own preferences when choosing their selection.
Personally, I’m a fan of tried-and-true products that operate as marketed, and meet/exceed expectations; the TORRAS FlexLine 40W Charger Block certainly lives up to this. The primary areas that I gravitate towards are:

Power/Speed
- The main focus of any charging block is its charging capabilities, so my thoughts are based on personal experience with various products within the range; this excludes low-power (i.e. 5-15W stock block) and high-power (i.e. 65+W power adapter) options.
- This TORRAS Charger Block immediately raises the standard of single-line chargers, doubling the average 20W USB-C charger to push 40W output. However, it’s the consistency of output across the product that impressed me.
- Not only is the retractable built-in USB-C cable capable of 40W output on its own, but the additional USB-C port is as well (assuming an appropriate cable is used).
- When used concurrently, the output is still 20W + 20W, displacing the need for having 2 separate blocks.
- I can’t comment on the durability of the built-in cable, but they’ve noted thorough testing; however, it “feels” slightly fragile, likely due to its flat shape for retractability.
- It’s also a bit short, measuring at 26.8”; although a longer cable can be used with the USB-C port, I’d still prefer my “short” cable length to be closer to 3’, and use the port for 6’ cables.
- I’m also not particularly fond of how the built-in cable is accessed, even though it looks clean and compact. There’s 2 ways that feel most natural to me, but neither seem ideal for the connection tip: either push-slide the connector upwards (scraping the tip against the block), or pulling the connector down (directly grabbing the tip).

Portability
- As much as I’d like a longer and/or “stronger” built-in cable, I’m a HUGE fan of its compact and portable size, and would not want a different cable at the expense of its portability.
- Most charging blocks I’ve used either similar in size with weaker output, or similar output with much larger and oblong dimensions; some don’t have a way to fold or cover the plug, and nearly all don’t have a way of storing a cable (or even come with one).
- Its dimensions are slightly larger than 2 AirPod Pro cases stacked against each other. BUT the best part is the optimized structure and folding plug placement; this connects to any wall outlet WITHOUT covering the other outlet, leaving room for other things.
- Far too many wall chargers take up outlet space, or require use of the bottom outlet to save room for top outlet use. This is a non-factor with this TORRAS FlexLine.
- One minor “nice-to-have” detail (that I’ve also mentioned on another review) is having a carrying case/bag included. This charging block may be durable, but other items it’s potentially carried with may not be, especially with the ends of the plug and connector tips partially protruding.

Expansion
- As mentioned above, this charger comes with a built-in retractable USB-C cable and an additional USB-C port. This allows expansion across a wider range of charging options. While the built-in cable covers the widely-used USB-C that MANY portable electronic devices utilize, the additional port can be used for other cable types that connect via USB-C to charge (i.e. lightning cables).
- It’d be nice to receive an additional longer ~40W USB-C cable packaged in the box as well, but I understand why there isn’t.

This well-developed charging block from TORRAS has definitely made a strong case to consistently follow me on every trip, from days at the office to extended vacations. Paired with their MiniMag Power Bank, Magnetic Stand Phone Case, and any of their other quality products, all bases are fully covered before walking out the door.

Convenient and great for travel! US and Japan

I am currently using this for a trip in Japan and it's extremely useful as it supports PD and QC while also saving you one less USB-C cable to worry about. I am traveling with two other people and having one less cable makes a great difference because in hotels, there are limited sockets and having an extra cable that's already attached within the charger saves space and less thinking about what to pack. It's also sturdy and the cable sits flush with the charging block onces it retracts. Cable also seems thick and I feel like it will last a long time. And because there is a magnet inside the charging block or cable, the cable does not flop around, further reducing the mess the cables can introduce. I overall recommend this product especially for travelers! This will work both in US sockets and Japanese sockets. It also charged Sony Xperia 1 V at the appropriate 20W speed when paired with my Nikon Zf. It was able to charge both with both cables, which is especially important because I think the ZF only supports PD. Definitely a worthy product.

Retractable cable to avoid cable entanglement is best

The retractable cable feature on this home charger is a first for me. I've seen similar functionality on car chargers, and it's incredibly convenient. When cleaning the home with a vacuum, the cable often gets in the way or looks messy, so this retractable feature is a great solution.

Another plus is the C-type connector. This means that all my latest devices, including my Samsung laptop, Samsung S24 Ultra phones, Galaxy watch, and MacBook, can use this charger.

The retractable cable is easy to use and helps prevent tangling. Additionally, the charger can charge two devices simultaneously, boosting charging efficiency.
